Os fãs da série dee livros “As Crônicas de Gelo e Fogo”, adaptada
para a televisão pela rede HBO no seriado Game
of Thrones, terão de esperar mais um pouco pelo sexto volume da saga. No sábado,
02/01/2016, o escritor norte-americano George R. R. Martin informou em seu blog
que não conseguiu terminar o próximo volume da saga, que tem o título
provisório de “The Winds of Winter”,
dentro do prazo.
Estava acertado que ele entregaria a história
no dia 31 de dezembro para que fosse publicada em março de 2016. Entretanto, o
anúncio do atraso significa que, quando a sexta temporada de TV estrear, em
abril, Martin ainda estará escrevendo o livro como indicou. Segundo o autor,
ele levará mais alguns meses para terminar The
Winds of Winter.
Em seu blog, Martin pediu desculpas aos fãs. “Aproveitem
a série. Aproveitem os livros. Enquanto isso, eu continuarei escrevendo. Um
capítulo de cada vez. Uma página de cada vez. É a maneira que eu sei fazer!”,
disse. “Durante anos, meus leitores estiveram à frente dos telespectadores.
Este ano, por várias razões, será o contrário”, completou.
Mais ainda, o escritor afirmou que, entre
editores, agentes, tradutores e a HBO, é ele quem está “mais decepcionado” com
o atraso da publicação do novo livro.
O autor da série que inspirou Games of Thrones tampouco havia cumprido
o prazo precedente de entrega de The Winds
of Winter, que estava fixado para outubro do ano passado. “Os prazos me
estressam”, desabafou George R. R. Martin na nota. Ele também agradeceu “as palavras
amáveis e bons desejos” dos leitores nos comentários de seu blog.
Para depois de The Winds of Winter, já está acertado que Martin produzirá o sétimo
volume da saga, cujo título deverá ser A
Drem of Spring.
