Yvone Craig, a atriz que interpretou a Batgirl do seriado Batman, dos anos 1960, faleceu na segunda-feira, 17, em sua casa em Los Angeles, aso 78 anos. A causa da morte foram complicações decorrentes de um câncer de mama, segundo informou a família.
Depois de ter começado sua carreira como dançarina de balé, Yvonne conseguiu dezenas de papéis na TV, no início dos anos 60, bem como em dois filmes estrelados por Elvis Presley (Loiras, Morenas e Ruivas - 1963 e Com Caipira Não se Brinca - 1964). Mas ela somente se tornou conhecida ao interpretar o papel da Sexy Batgirl, a filha do comissário Gordon, nas temporadas de 1967 e 1968, da séria Batman, produzida pela rede ABC, estralada por Adam West e Burt Ward, no papel de Batman e Robin, respectivamente.
Ela também viveu uma escrava verde Orion, que queria matar o Capitão Kirk, num episódio de Star Trek, da série original. Recentemente, tentou trabalhar no show biz e realizou algumas dublagens de animações. Seu último trabalho foi na série de desenho animado Olivia, do Nickelodeon.
